About Us
Meet the Owners

Suzanne and Al Locker began ABC Pet Resort & Spa in 1991. Suzanne served eight years on the Pet Care Services Association (PCSA) Board of Directors, representing other pet facility owners in the southern states. During this time she held the office of President of the Board for one year.
The Lockers served as Co-Chairs of the Voluntary Facilities Accreditation Committee, which continues to set high standards for pet care facilities and shelters in the United States and around the world. The Lockers are frequently invited to be speakers at seminars for various groups, such as Pet Care Services Association, local schools, business chambers and for groups around the world. In 2007, they were the keynote speakers for the Pet Industry Association of Australia’s annual conference in Cairnes, Australia!
Al Locker also owns Turnkey, Inc., a design/build construction company that has served the Houston area for over 40 years. He has designed over 30 pet facilities and veterinary clinics in the United States, and built 15 in the Houston area. Al is sought out for this expertise in the pet industry because of his considerable knowledge of pet facility ownership, design and construction.
About Our Team

The entire team at ABC takes pride in having one of the best pet resorts in the Texas! We back this claim with our extensive staff training and our commitment to keeping ABC an Accredited Facility.
Each staff member was chosen for their love of animals and dedication to making sure that all guests at ABC have a happy and safe stay. Every member of the ABC team regularly attends seminars on dog behavior. Additionally, each member is required to pass the PCSA Pet Care Technician course. Staff members also attend Urban Tails Academy for training in order to better understand dog behavior and ably manage safe group play. You will see their certificates proudly displayed when you come for a visit.

Why should a pet care facility or business join PCSA?
The Pet Care Services Association provides publications, regional meetings, a national convention, an education program, an ethics program, an accreditation program, an insurance program, information and networking. Basically, the association provides members with all the information and tools they need to ensure that their businesses offer the most professional, skilled pet care available and provides pet owners with the information they need to select a satisfactory pet care provider.
We’re Accredited!
The Voluntary Facilities Accreditation (VFA) program provides pet care facilities the opportunity to demonstrate their compliance to a comprehensive set of industry established standards and earn accreditation from the Pet Care Services Association. The program contains over 250 standards in 17 separate areas of pet care facility operations, management, and customer service. Developed by the Pet Care Services Association, formerly ABKA, the standards reflect the views of facility operators, veterinarians, pet owners and humane organizations representing the “state of the art” in animal care and management.
